Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that isn't answered here, please let us know.

I made a purchase through this site but I don't see any sign of it in my "Total Raised." What should I do?
Generally speaking, it takes 3-5 business days for a purchase to be reflected in your account. In rare cases, depending on the retailer where you made the purchase, it might take as long as 30 days—some retailers post an entire month's commissions in one large batch, once a month.

If you don't see any sign of a purchase in your account, within a reasonable time after the purchase, please forward your confirmation of purchase to unpaid@givingcart.com, and we'll have a look. Feel free to remove any private information from your order-confirmation before forwarding.
Does GivingCart share my email address with anyone?
No. Nor do we rent or lease email addresses. We take pains to keep our user information secure. Occasionally we may send you a promotional email which you can opt out of at any time by a simple reply.
How much of the commission goes to my chosen cause and how much to GivingCart?
GivingCart forwards 80% of all commissions to their designated causes, retaining 20% to finance the service we provide. This information can also be found in the user agreement. Please consult your tax advisor as to whether the funds you raise through GivingCart are tax deductible for you.
Why did my "total raised" number go down?
When you make a purchase or book a hotel or flight through GivingCart, the advertisers sometimes send us the agreed commission before the purchase or service is fulfilled. The "total raised" listed in your account may be lowered in the event that a credit card does not process, an item is returned, or a flight or hotel reservation is canceled.
There is a store featured on GivingCart which I think may be inappropriate for a Catholic website. What should I do?
If you see a store whose participation in a Catholic website should perhaps be reconsidered, please let us know through our contact page, briefly stating your reasons. We will investigate the object of your concern promptly and carefully, and take appropriate action if deemed necessary.
